The Bunk

Here is a quick look at how the Bunk went together.

after cleaning up a bit...

I took the extra seat out.

The plan is to seal the garage from the living space.  To keep the heat in and the garage fumes out.

Sealed about 90%. air tight. Maybe less. the back windows will stay open most of the time for ventilation.

I went with a back bunk rather than a side bunk to allow my little friend to see out both windows.

The bunk lid has come in handy many times now.

It is amazing how just having a comfortable bunk in the van changes the whole feel. After the bunk was built, as basic as it was, I really got fired up to press on.

Can we go to the RTR Dad? ha, can we?

A more lived in look

Work has begun.

Yes;
Work has begun, slow but moving forward.

I sparred no expense with my tools. A good tool is like a good attitude. You need them both to get the job done.

That said I have my cordless saw ,my cordless drill and my work bench ready to start.

And of course without proper supervision. us worker bee's just fly in circles.

The kitchen sink.

I am so excited! I bought the kitchen sink for my Custom Camper Van, formerly known as my stealth van.

As one can see my dishes and fry pan will fit nicely when it’s time to do the dishes. And that long neck faucet! It’s to die for!

The plan at the time is to run a pressurized water system similar to what I have in my camper. Just a smaller scale.

As in my camper when I want to use water I turn on the pump and have normal water pressure in a few seconds. when I am finished with the water I turn off the switch.

As old as my camper is, 1998. I don’t let water to stay up to pressure more than necessary to prevent leaks.

Stealth Camper Project G20

Here is my new Stealth Camper project.

It’s my 95 Chevy G20 van.
I always wanted a good stealth camper and now is a good time to make it happen. The basic goal is to be more mobile.
One thing I noticed about pulling a 33 foot trailer is ...That I was pulling a 33 foot trailer.
You just don't camp anywhere you want with out drawing a little attention. That and gas stations can be a challenge.

I prefer to do thing's unnoticed. It would be nice most of the time if I could go anywhere, park, camp the night and not be noticed…much.

I have been living full time in my camper for around five years now. Never staying in one place for more than 6 month's or so.

I still work for a living so where I stay has much to do with the location of my current job.   I have noticed over the years that lot rent is a big chunk of my outgoing expenses.  So If I lived in the van, much like I did when I was driving over the road in trucking. I could basically eliminate the lot rent.

That is the basic chain of thought that led to the Stealth Van Project.

That said I am still in the planning stages, doing a little work here and  there. Slowly gaining momentum. Like a rig  puling away from the dock and hitting the open road. Once I get moving on this, I wont be likely to stop.

So here we go...

I don’t plan to raise the roof. When I see a raised roof for some reason I will give it a second glance. So that’s not in the plans.

The back and side windows will be blacked out and insulated from the sun’s heat.

The official beginning of this project is September 2015. lets see how long this takes. keeping in mind it will  always be a work in progress.

I guess I should start by jacking up the front and dumping all my junk out the back.

Yes,, I think you should.
