Stealth Camper Project G20

Here is my new Stealth Camper project.

It’s my 95 Chevy G20 van.
I always wanted a good stealth camper and now is a good time to make it happen. The basic goal is to be more mobile.
One thing I noticed about pulling a 33 foot trailer is ...That I was pulling a 33 foot trailer.
You just don't camp anywhere you want with out drawing a little attention. That and gas stations can be a challenge.

I prefer to do thing's unnoticed. It would be nice most of the time if I could go anywhere, park, camp the night and not be noticed…much.

I have been living full time in my camper for around five years now. Never staying in one place for more than 6 month's or so.

I still work for a living so where I stay has much to do with the location of my current job.   I have noticed over the years that lot rent is a big chunk of my outgoing expenses.  So If I lived in the van, much like I did when I was driving over the road in trucking. I could basically eliminate the lot rent.

That is the basic chain of thought that led to the Stealth Van Project.

That said I am still in the planning stages, doing a little work here and  there. Slowly gaining momentum. Like a rig  puling away from the dock and hitting the open road. Once I get moving on this, I wont be likely to stop.

So here we go...

I don’t plan to raise the roof. When I see a raised roof for some reason I will give it a second glance. So that’s not in the plans.

The back and side windows will be blacked out and insulated from the sun’s heat.

The official beginning of this project is September 2015. lets see how long this takes. keeping in mind it will  always be a work in progress.

I guess I should start by jacking up the front and dumping all my junk out the back.

Yes,, I think you should.
